Thinking about upgrading your aircraft?

Before you sign the purchase agreement to change your existing aircraft, be sure to check with us about the insurance. As you have come to expect, we are able to offer the best rates and terms available on the market. Sensible upgrades carry the least amount of insurance issues. Example: upgrading from an Archer to a Piper Lance. However, larger upgrades may require aditional training. Example: if you are upgrading from an Archer to a Navajo and you have 1500 total hours but 0 MEL hours. The insurance company would require Factory approved ground and flight school plus additional dual hours prior to solo operations.

Light Jets: Many of our customers have deposits down on light jets. The transition market is not completely established in the light jet department primarily because
there are so few flying at this point. Our best estimate at this point is that transitioning into the VLJ market will be similar to other lighter jets which is to say that the insurance companies are interested in taking on the risk. Your private IFR rated pilot with 1000 hours 250+ MEL and some turbo prop or jet experience will see little difficulty in the transition on the insurance. Lower time pilots (private with IFR rating and 500+ hours, but little other experience) may see a longer training period (perhaps even time spent with a mentor pilot). However, the outlook at this point is very optimistic for insurability and transitioning into a light jet.

Travers & Associates at Airventure '09 Recap AirVenture 2009

Airventure / Oshkosh 2009 was another huge success for Travers Aviation Insurance. Along with an overwhelming amount of "new customer" quote requests, we were also able to visit with many of our long term current customers and put many faces with many names.

Everyone who stopped by the booth received a free flashlight. Along with all of the wonderful things to see and do, the flyover and private tour of the Airbus A380 that we managed to secure was definitely one of the highlights.

Travers Aviation Insurance was also featured in GA News during Airventure. Here is the link to that story -Click Here.

Make sure you find time to stop by our booth at future Airventures or any of the other events that we regularly attend. See you at AOPA Expo!!!!!

In addition to Life insurance for Pilots, Travers also offers Disability Insurance

According to insurance.com, "one in seven employees will be disabled for five years or more before retirement". Many disability policies exclude a disability that is the result of an airplane accident.

We can provide competitive rates and will work to make sure that your policy also covers a disability
that is caused from an Airplane accident.
